Dvě performerky s velkými maskami hlav u stolu s pivem, inscenace Antiwords

Theatre: Antiwords Performance in Copenhagen - 25. 11. 2026 from 7:30 p.m.

Internationally acclaimed performance Antiwords is a wild, physical, and uncompromising tribute to Václav Havel. Loosely inspired by his play Audience and its legendary film adaptation directed by Jiří Menzel, the production takes this iconic dialogue into entirely new territory. Can the performers live up to the unforgettable performance of famous Czech actor Pavel Landovský and push themselves to the very edge, where Havel’s theme of alienation meets the Hrabalesque poetics of solitude? The result is a captivating theatrical experience that balances on the fine line between grotesque comedy, absurdity, and profound existential reflection.

Conference: The Legacy of Václav Havel - 17. 11. 2026 from 3:00 p.m.

In 2026, Václav Havel would have celebrated his 90th birthday. To mark the occasion, this afternoon will explore Havel’s legacy as a playwright, philosopher, dissident, and statesman. Through three panel discussions, leading scholars, writers, and public intellectuals will reflect on themes that remain strikingly relevant today: truth and misinformation, academic freedom, ethics, civil society, democracy, and political responsibility in an increasingly uncertain world. // Image - credits goes to: © Petr Jančárek, stills from the film Havel Speaking, Can You Hear Me?
